The next review samples in our Xigmatek lineup is the Xigmatek AEGIR SD128264.
We have already mentioned that Xigmatek has been around for a little over 5 years. The company established itself well and rather quickly in the air cooling arena. Xigmatek impressed many consumers with good quality products and performance at an affordable price level. This can not only be measured and compared but impressed audiences.
Xigmatek's "ICE" philosophy is well vested in the company and it's products.
"ICE" = Impressive / Creative / EssentialThe AEGIR is a 120mm H.D.T vertical airflow cooler. The implemented H.D.T Design is rejuvenating the air cooler market and has a strong comeback. Many of the current top coolers implement the H.D.T Design. The design allows the copper heatpipes to make direct contact with the CPU's heat-spreader, thus allowing for direct heat transfer.
Xigmatek enhanced the original H.D.T Design with the AEGIR and it is now called the D.L.H.D.T. (Double Layer with Heat-pipe Direct Touch).
The design of this specific cooler employs a mix of 6 uncoated copper heatpipes. 4 of those heatpipes have a 6mm diameter, while the other 2 have a 8mm diameter.
Two 8mm heatpipes and two 6mm heatpipes make actual contact with the CPU heat-spreader while the other two 6mm heatpipes are basically layered on top of the two 8mm heatpipes.
The cooler is outfitted with a single white LED lite 120mm fan which and exchangeable The fan is attached with a set of 4 rubber pins. The package includes a 2nd set of 4 rubber pins which can be used to attach a 2nd fan at the rear of the cooler to further enhance cooling performance. These features are a good combination and promise solid results.
AEGIR, high-end tower cooler is based on the newly developed D.L.H.D.T. (Double Layer with Heat-pipe Direct Touch) structure. With its 2*Φ8mm and 2*Φ6mm Heat-pipes on the H.D.T. Base and the 2*Φ6mm Heat-pipes on the 2nd layer, it is launched as a “World Exclusive Technology Cooler” but also outstanding and great performance
